You might not be an expert in flirting, but there are some easy signs to look for. Many women assume that if the guy is talking a lot to her, or initiating a lot of the conversations that he’s definitely into her. This isn’t always true! It could be that he’s just a guy who likes to talk, and that he might just be treating you as a friend.
1.Eye contact
If someone maintains eye contact with you longer than usual, they are likely interested in flirting or getting to know you better. People avoid eye contact with others when they are not interested in them or want to get away from them. Making strong eye contact shows attraction and a desire for further connection. There’s a difference between brief eye contact and staring — making strong eye contact conveys interest and familiarity.
2. He gives you a nickname.
He likes to make fun of you. Guys love to tease the girl they like. It’s not mean — it’s actually quite cute. If he teases you, then he likes you. He will always flirt with the woman he likes because it gets him attention and makes him feel good about himself.
3.He compliments your look
If a man compliments something about your looks, he most likely likes what he sees and wants to get your attention. He’s trying to tell you that he likes how you look and wants to make an impression on you. But not all compliments are created equal! For example, if he says “you’re pretty!” but doesn’t elaborate, then it’s probably just a friend telling another friend she’s pretty.. On the other hand, if he says “you look amazing in that dress,” then he wants to get with YOU.
4.He asks you personal questions.
It’s natural to ask someone their name when you meet them, but if a guy continues the conversation by asking you more personal questions — like your last name, where you live, or where you go to school — then he’s probably interested in getting to know you better. If he asks about your day or how your classes are going before asking for your number, that’s also a good sign that he wants to see you again!
5.He initiates physical contact.
Touching is a huge clue that a guy likes you. If he brushes against your hand or arm casually or brushes lint off your jacket without asking first, that means he probably wants to get closer to you! He might also try to make casual body contact by lightly touching your back or shoulder as he laughs at one of your jokes. If his eyes linger in your direction for longer than normal, that also means that he’s interested in spending more time with you.
6. He flirts with your friends, too.
If a guy flirts with your friends when you’re around, it’s often because he wants to get your attention. He could be interested in making a connection, and he knows that flirting is the best way to do that.
7.See if he’s trying to make plans with you.
If he seems to be taking an interest in your plans, especially if he asks if you’re free on a certain night or suggests that you both do something together, it’s likely that he’s interested in a date. He might also mention plans involving other friends or suggest that you all hang out together. If a guy is interested in you and wants to date you, he’ll ask you to spend time with him so that he can get to know you better.
8. He likes what you like.
He may not be in love with your favorite movies or music yet, but he’s certainly willing to give it a try if you do. You will be surprised at how many guys actually like things that they pretend not to be just for their girlfriends. It’s just one more way of expressing love by showing interest in something that you like.
9.He gives you his full attention.
When a guy likes a girl and wants to get to know her better, he’ll want to spend as much time with her as he can. If a guy is genuinely interested in getting to know you, he’ll make an effort to be around you.
10.He’ll remember little details about what you tell him.
If a guy remembers the little things about what you tell him, it’s because he’s trying hard to impress you. He wants to show that he cares and is paying attention by remembering details and stories
11.He leans closer to you.
If he’s leaning in when you’re talking to him, that’s a good sign. Body language experts claim people who are attracted to each other will lean in when talking. If he’s trying to get closer to you in a physical way (not just moving his chair closer), that’s even better.
12. He smiles a lot, especially at you.
A man who’s flirting will smile often — and his smile will be genuine and not forced. This isn’t the same as him flashing his pearly whites at everyone else in the room — if you’re getting special treatment and a different type of smile, that’s a good sign.
13. He tells you he’s single.
This can be a sign that he’s not just talking to you, but that he’s interested in being more than just friends. If he makes sure to let you know he’s single, it’s probably because he wants to take things a step further.
While these tips may not work every time, they should help you identify if a guy is flirting with you or simply being friendly. You can then determine if you want to take things further or if it’s time to set him straight. Ultimately, it’s up to you how your interactions with that guy proceed.
